- The choice between internal and external is often a personal one. I have
- an external Courier now, but have used an internal modem for years and
- years. Like both just fine. With an internal, you can run a program like
- ModemSta which shows the "lights" on screen. The internal has less stuff
- to mess with (power supply, cables, etc)...and perhaps most important, you
- don't have to worry about needing a 16550 UART serial port--lots of problems
- related to serial ports.
